In recent days, Paris Hilton was sentenced to 45 days in prison for violating the terms of her parole from a previous conviction. Over 900 fans have signed a petition for Governor Schwarzenegger to pardon Hilton.

Here's an excerpt from a recent online article regarding the petition:

"The petition, which had more than 900 signatures by Tuesday morning, urges Schwarzenegger to pardon Hilton because she provides 'beauty and excitement to (most of) our otherwise mundane lives.'"

What kind of lives are people living? Am I missing something?
